Superman (2025) – First Trailer | Will Smith
In the Superman (2025) first trailer, Will Smith makes his debut as the iconic Man of Steel in a fresh, unexpected take on the beloved superhero. The trailer opens with a breathtaking aerial view of Metropolis, its shining skyscrapers reflecting the morning sun. Suddenly, a sonic boom shakes the city, and the camera zooms in on Superman, played by Smith, streaking through the sky at incredible speed.
The trailer quickly establishes this is a different Superman than we’ve seen before. The voiceover from Will Smith hints at Clark Kent’s inner struggle: “It’s not the cape or the powers that make a hero. It’s the choices we make, and I’ve made mine.” This Superman is grappling with the weight of his responsibilities, torn between his role as Earth’s protector and the desire to live a normal life.
As the trailer unfolds, we see Clark balancing his dual life as a reporter at the Daily Planet and the world’s most powerful superhero. A few brief, heartwarming scenes show him interacting with Lois Lane (played by Gugu Mbatha-Raw), their chemistry unmistakable. However, the peace is shattered when a powerful new enemy, Lex Luthor (played by Mahershala Ali), emerges with a terrifying plan to destroy Superman once and for all. Luthor, cold and calculating, delivers chilling lines, warning the world of the danger Superman represents: “No one man should have that much power.”
Action scenes dominate the trailer, showing Superman saving a crashing plane, battling against robotic drones, and even stopping a collapsing bridge from killing hundreds. The effects are dazzling, and Smith’s Superman radiates both strength and vulnerability as he confronts Luthor in an intense final battle.
In a shocking twist, the trailer hints that Luthor has discovered Superman’s biggest secret—a way to weaken him using an unknown substance, which seems to be more devastating than
Kryptonite. The trailer concludes with Superman falling to his knees, weakened, as Luthor gloats from a distance.
The final shot shows Superman rising once more, battered but determined, his cape flapping in the wind as he prepares for the ultimate battle. “This is my world. And I will defend it.”
